David Griggs

Description

Through the use of painting, photography, video, sculpture and installation I conduct research into various events. Political events, personal events and mix them together with a sense of irony and a lack of care. It is the strength of any chosen theme that allows the works to have some sort of grounding. Themes have emerged from research with local Pinoy street gangs, Manila City Jail inmates, regional Halloween festivals and Freak Show carnivals. My works could be seen as an almost community experiment between artists and local artisans who work with billboard painting and woodcarving.
